The program also includes a trio by Bun-Ching Lam. The concert takes place at Merkin Concert Hall on Sunday, December 12, 1999 at 8pm.

The Naumburg award-winning group, New Millennium Ensemble, comprised of six virtuosic instrumentalists, has emerged as one of New York's most dynamic young ensembles. Laying claim to music from Bach to Boulez and from Ravel to Steve Reich, the ensemble has brought its energetic eclecticism to audiences throughout the country. The New York Times wrote, "The expert young players have an admirable catholicity of taste and the virtuosity to support it."

The ensemble has premiered over fifty new works since its founding in 1990 and has collaborated with composers at various universities including Harvard and Columbia Universities where the ensemble first met and worked with Sean Varah and Peter Alexander, and San Francisco State University where Richard Festinger is on the faculty.

New Millennium has received numerous accolades including the ASCAP award for adventurous programming in 1994. The group's discography includes a CD on Koch of Donald Martino's music, and a CRI disc with a collection of American twentieth century composers. A recording of Feldman chamber music pieces will be released by Koch at the turn of the millennium.
